Cocktail Recipe Du Jour: Sparkling Green Machine

Posted on January 16, 2013 by Lazyjack Press

Okay, I know we are all probably champagned-out after all our New Year's festivities and it's a shame!  Champagne is such a light and refreshing drink, undeserving of a hiatus.

This time, I’m focusing on a “healthier” cocktail recipe that you don’t have to feel as guilty for drinking. It’s champagne and green tea-based. You could enjoy it for brunch after a long night out or to relax after a long day at work.

Hey, everyone is going gaga for all of green tea’s health benefits. You know, its antioxidant properties and its propensity to up the metabolism, et cetera, et cetera.

So, why not have some fun while we are all failing at our New Year’s resolutions anyway?

What you’ll need:

In a cocktail shaker with ice, add:

2 oz. chilled prepared green tea (I love Mighty Tea Leaf’s Organic Spring Jasmine!)
1 oz. fresh lime juice
A drop of honey or agave

Shake the contents well and add champagne.

Garnish with fresh mint
