Thanksgiving Day is Fast Approaching!

Posted on November 20, 2012 by Lazyjack Press

Thanksgiving is a few days away! Time for family, friends and tons of food! Since we’ll all be spending the day eating (and drinking) our faces off, I decided a few cocktails on the lighter side might be in order.

These cocktails all  have one thing in common: Saint Germain. If you don’t own it, get it. It’s a light lychee/pear liqueur that goes well with so many wines, liquors, and champagnes. It’s super light and will be refreshing with all of the heavy holiday food.

I opted for simple recipes this time so you’re free to wrangle the turkey, extinguish the flames in the oven, and maybe even impress the in-laws. Hey, it may help you stay sane too.

So, happy Thanksgiving – let’s make it a great one this year!!

1) Cucumber/Mint Champagne cocktail

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add:

3/4 champagne or prosecco

A few mint leaves

A few slices of cucumber

Top it all off with a splash of Saint Germain - a little goes a long way!

2) The Saint Germain cocktail

Fill a highball glass with ice, and add:

2 parts champagne or prosecco

1 part Saint Germain

2 parts club soda

Garnish with a lemon twist

Note: the above recipe also works with a nice white wine like a Sauvignon Blanc!

3) Or, I’d just skip the club soda and put the prosecco/champagne with Saint Germain in a champagne flute.

4) Sparkling Lychee:

In a champagne flute:

Add a lychee fruit

Fill the glass with champagne/prosecco

Top off with Saint Germain
