#TBT: My Dad + Ties
During filming (more on that later), I was asked if my dad ever wore ties. That question sparked a whole stream of memories. My dad wore a tie every single day – even if he didn’t have a meeting to dress up for. I used to love helping him pick out ties at Hermès the one time a year he’d grudgingly agree to go shopping (after being bribed with lunch). But each morning, I loved helping him pick out the “perfect” tie. Truth be told, I was utterly unaware if the tie clashed or complimented his outfit. Regardless, he’d put the tie on and head to the office. Looking back, I’d like to think I got it right most of the time, but who knows! It’s an interesting memory to think back on now that I’m designing luxury ties.
