The Kentucky Derby

Posted on April 28, 2014 by Lazyjack Press

The Kentucky Derby is this Saturday! It's often called "the most exciting two minutes in sports" and guaranteed to be one hell of a party no matter where you're celebrating. It's more than just a horse race -- it's a place to see and be seen and sport your preppiest outfit. It also kicks off the first leg of the US Triple Crown and is followed by Preakness and the Belmont Stakes (other great reasons to don a bow tie, sip mint juleps, and party with friends!).

Gentlemen, don't let your ladies have all of the fun with their big hats and Lily dresses. Sport a fun, bright, and sophisticated bow tie made in Italy of Hermes silk from Lazyjack Press. ($78) and free domestic shipping.

Below are some of our suggestions for the big day:
In order from left to right: Motorboatin', Buckwild, Kegs & Eggs, Beer Goggles, Gotta Light?, Lazyjack the Knife, Blue (Golf Balls), Buckwild, and Foreplay.

#Hashtags

Posted on April 23, 2014 by Lazyjack Press

There's no denying (or hiding) from the fact that hashtags are everywhere. They've taken over social media in a frenzy. You see them everywhere: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, etc. — even in popular culture. We're definitely guilty of (over)using the little tic-tac-toe sign ourselves, often to the chagrin of our friends. As a result, one of our friends reminded us of the below sketch by Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake poking a little fun on hashtags. It's an oldie, but it's worth (re)watching and guaranteed to conjure up a belly laugh, or ten!

Cheers!

Bonus: Jimmy Fallon and Jonah Hill with Hashtag 2!

Lazyjack Press Photo Shoot: Behind the Scenes

Posted on April 16, 2014 by Lazyjack Press

Lazyjack Press had a photo shoot yesterday in Tiburon, CA. We were fortunate to have my uncle, Shahram Sanai (shahramsanai.com), work with us. He's a fashion photographer and has worked with everyone (and I mean, everyone)! We were also lucky to have Casey Richards be our model (cdanielrichards@yahoo.com) who was an absolute joy to work with! All in all, we couldn't have asked for more gorgeous weather or a better team to showcase some of Lazyjack Press's SS14 line, as well as some of the classics.

Here are some of the behind the scenes pictures I took on my iPad (untouched):

Inventive Bloody Marys

Posted on April 03, 2014 by Lazyjack Press

A good friend of mine alerted me to this Zagat list of the ten best Bloody Marys in NYC. As I'm sure you've picked up on, I'm Bloody Mary obsessed! There are some good ones on this list I haven't tried yet, but will be trying soon!

Here's the list if you're in New York!

And since I'm visiting San Francisco, I obviously have a lot more work to do on my Bloody Mary mission so I found Zagat's list for the Bay Area.  I do take issue with the fact that my favorite one thus far, the Chipotle Bloody from the Tipsy Pig didn't make the list. It's the perfect blend of spice and smoke!

Happy brunching!

Email me your favorites: miriam@lazyjackpress.com and I'll include them on a later blog!

Cat vs Dogs

Posted on March 27, 2014 by Lazyjack Press

For those of you who follow Lazyjack Press on all of the various social media outlets, you have unavoidably been introduced to Napoleon, my chubby long-haired "teacup" chihuahua who lives with my mom in San Francisco and Isabelle, my beautiful rescue kitty who lives with me in New York. While I'm visiting San Francisco for a slightly extended period of time, I decided to bring Isabelle along. She did incredibly well on the flight and is adjusting wonderfully to her new environs.  Well, she was adjusting until my mom introduced her to Napoleon and her other dog, Oliver. Let's just say, it didn't quite go as we had hoped.

We're at the end of the week so I know we can all use a little comedic relief. Just make sure your volume is up for maximum laughs!
